Seit Jahren gilt das Liburnia Jazz Festival als Referenzevent für kroatische und europäische Jazzliebhaber, denn im Rahmen des am ersten Wochenende im Juli stattfindenden Festivals werden sowohl etablierte, weltweit berühmte Jazz-Musiker, als auch junge Künstler präsentiert, deren Talent bislang noch unentdeckt ist. Während des Festivals ist die Jazz-Musik auf vielen Terrassen in der Stadt sowie am Meer zu hören, denn entlang der Küste fährt dann das populäre „Jazz Boat“. Der Höhepunkt jedes Festivaltages ist der Auftritt namhafter Jazzmusiker auf der Freilichtbühne.

This musical event presents traditional Croatian vocal groups in a different way, as they sing famous carnival songs in the rhythm of the polka. In addition to the vocal performances, another significant aspect to this competition is the carnival spirit, as the audience and the jury will judge not only the musical quality, but also the quality of the masks and choreography. Famous musicians, carnival groups and bell-ringers (traditional masks of the region) will take part in the programme.
