Il Liburnia Jazz Festival e gia da anni un punto di riferimento per il jazz croato ed europeo. Ogni primo fine settimana di luglio presenta al pubblico i nomi famosi del jazz europeo, musicisti d'eccellenza che hanno conquistato fama mondiale e giovani artisti promettenti il cui talento deve appena essere scoperto. Durante il festival la musica jazz si sente quasi da ogni terrazzo, ma anche dalla popolare „Jazz Boat“ che per l'occasione solca il mare di Opatija. La festa raggiunge ogni giorno il suo apice nel Teatro estivo dove si esibiscono le principali stelle del festival.

This musical event presents traditional Croatian vocal groups in a different way, as they sing famous carnival songs in the rhythm of the polka. In addition to the vocal performances, another significant aspect to this competition is the carnival spirit, as the audience and the jury will judge not only the musical quality, but also the quality of the masks and choreography. Famous musicians, carnival groups and bell-ringers (traditional masks of the region) will take part in the programme.
