The year 1996. was largely successful for Lovran Brass Orchestra, including the number of perfomances. Last, hundredth performance is celebrated 31st 12th 1996th in front of the Lovran municipality. From this year, the promenade concert on 31st of December has become traditional - at the same place, in front of Lovran municipalty at 11:30.

The best known Lovran gastronomic event is a real feast for gourmands - cakes, sweets and other dishes prepared with chestnuts (maruni), according to old local recipes. Each year the month of October is that of "maruni", when along with the entertainment programmes in the Lovran restaurants and in the cafe of Hotel "Excelsior", a rich gastronomic range of chestnut cakes and sweets is on offer on the streets of the old town.
At the end of the month of October, each year, cafes in neighbouring Opatija - celebrate "maruni", offering a great assortment of cakes prepared with this tasty ingredient.
