During the Fireworks Festival, the sky over Opatija is lit up by fantastic artistic creations. Fireworks launched from a pontoon floating in the sea off the coast fill the sky with magnificent colours. In the pauses between the fireworks, visitors can enjoy live music performed by professional bands and select from a variety of culinary specialities.

Kool & The Gang are an American jazz, soul, R'n'B, funk and disco band. They have sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations. Thanks to the numerous hits like Celebration, Cherish, Jungle Boogie, Joanna, Get Down On It, Ladies Night, Open Sesame, they have earned many world music awards, including two Grammy Awards. Kool & The Gang has been performing for the past 35 years, longer than any R’n’B group in history. That should be a good enough reason for you to come to the disco beach in Opatija!

National cultural and tourist campaign "Friends of the Sea" was initiated in 2009 by the Livingstone association and the company Astoria from Rijeka. The aim is to present the photography exhibition on large formats, open air, in 15 Croatian cities (every year from May to September), to Croatian public and to all the visitors, in order to draw attention to the role of photography in media culture and its social responsibility, and permanent value in promoting ecology and preservation of the Adriatic Sea. After the trilogy with themes of underwater, surface of the sea and essays on the Mediterranean, the fourth edition of this fascination exhibition presents valuable materials from the archives of museums, galleries, photo clubs and private collections.
