July 2016.
For many years now, the Liburnia Jazz Festival has been a reference for Croatian and international jazz lovers. On the first weekend in July, it presents established jazz musicians, world-famous artists or promising young musicians whose talent has not yet been internationally discovered. During the festival, jazz music can be heard all over the town, from various terraces and even from the sea, more precisely from the popular "Jazz Boat" that sails along the coast. The highlight of every festival day is the concert by a famous jazz star in Opatija's Open Air Theatre.

This musical event presents traditional Croatian vocal groups in a different way, as they sing famous carnival songs in the rhythm of the polka. In addition to the vocal performances, another significant aspect to this competition is the carnival spirit, as the audience and the jury will judge not only the musical quality, but also the quality of the masks and choreography. Famous musicians, carnival groups and bell-ringers (traditional masks of the region) will take part in the programme.
