Fiumare – Kvarner Sea and Maritime Tradition Festival

From June 6 to 10, an interesting, retro styled event will occur in Rijeka – festival of sea and maritime tradition with the taste of Kvarner. "Fiumare" will take us 100 years back in time, when the area of Mrtvi kanal (canal in the Rijeka centre) was the site of intense daily commerce. The festival will bring together representatives from islands and coastal places who will exhibit the traditional boats and their indigenous products on retro stands, dressed in national costumes. Inland cities and municipalities will be presented in a similar manner with drawn chariots and products of their region. Traditional crafts as well as fishing and maritime skills will be presented, along with screenings of Rijeka’s history films, organized tours to the sights of the Mrtvi kanal area and Rijeka’s theater, and a long list of other programs.
