Lungomare - 100th birthday

The exhibition Lungomare - 100th birthday, organized by the City of Opatija and the Croatian Museum of Tourism will be open in Art pavilion "Juraj Sporer" in Opatija on Wednesday, 29th of June 2011. at 19:30.

The first, northern phase of the promenade (Lungomare Volosko-Slatina) was completed in 1889, when Opatija officially becomes a Health Resort (the stretch from Dražice to the port was finished around 1888), and the southernmost section (that connected Opatija with the promenade in Lovran) was completed in 1911, thanks to the commitment of physician Julius Hortenau.

You can visit the exhibition until 10th of July 2011, every day except Mondays from 9:00-13:00 and 17:00-22:00.
